Gallery More won’t just be a quality, open plan, bespoke framers

Previously tucked away upstairs above ArtHouse Gallery on Eastbank street, Gallery More has recently relocated to Wayfarers Arcade where artist Deborah Flynn has taken the steps to expand her creative business. Taking up the new mantle “Studio & Shop”, Deb offers a product/service concept where the customer experience is just as important as the product and service itself.

Gallery More won’t just be a quality, open plan, bespoke framers. But a welcoming environment where you can view a small number of carefully curated artworks and artist materials as well as meet Deb and chat about your framing needs in a friendly and safe space.

Inspired by wood, raw materials and attention to detail, Gallery More will be a fresh, aesthetically pleasing studio in the heart of Southport Town Centre. On entering, customers walk through a unique creative environment where you can see the work that goes on behind the scenes.

The framing practice can be seen towards the rear of the shop, with the gallery and shop space located at the front. There will be curated art works and prints showcasing new talent and shop favourites from all over the North West along with quality artisan merchandise and specialised fine art supplies.

Story

Deb has over 40  years of creative experience both as a framer and as an artist herself. From starting her journey as an apprentice in a family owned picture framers to studying Fine Art at Liverpool Art School & UCLAN, Deb has lived and breathed art her whole life.

“Hi, I’m Deb!

After a long hiatus living in Europe, raising a family, renovating houses and somehow finding time to paint and develop my practice, I finally came home. Then in 2018 I spotted a picture framing opportunity at the ArtHouse and felt it was time to go back to where my creative journey all started. For the past 4 years I’ve been beavering away at the job I absolutely love, immersing myself among creatives and bringing out the best in their work.

My own art practice has always existed alongside my framing business, I work in oils, acrylics, watercolours and mixed media. My style leans towards figurative but lately I have experimented with abstract using watercolour and mixed media. I’m looking forward to being able to showcase a few personal pieces in the new space and I’m always open for commissions!

During the worst of Covid, I was able to think a lot more about the direction I wanted to take my business in and I’m very excited to be expanding during 2022. Gallery More Studio & Shop is the next step in my creative endeavours. Allowing you to view the behind the scenes of a framer, whilst also showcasing local artists work and amazing art supplies in a beautiful and welcoming space.”
